Deep Down....Popular?

Well, we found out today that this isn't the most popular book our club members have ever read.  I'm confident that it's going to get better though.  There's still the mystery with the house to figure out, and we have to see if Conrad's leg ever gets better.  If it does, do you think he and Jessie Lou will still be friends?  What do you think about Quentin?  He can be pretty goofy sometimes!
I was researching Phoebe Stone (the author of this book) and found out that both of her parents were writers and that before becoming a writer she was an artist.  In fact she also writes picture books and creates the artwork for them herself.  Can you see some of Jessie Lou's character in the author?  I feel like the way Jessie Lou describes things almost seems like a painting sometimes, especially the way she talks about the mystery house.
I hope you enjoy the second half of the book more than the first half - my fingers are crossed!
